Consultation Process

The development process of the national EUDI Wallet is in full swing. The goal is to create a solution that all citizens can use safely and easily. From the very beginning, the project has relied on broad participation: from experts and businesses to the general public. A central element was the consultation process, through which perspectives from society, industry, public administration, and academia were incorporated into the development. Even after the formal consultation phase, formats for continuous exchange remain in place to further develop viable, secure and user-friendly solutions.

Successfully Implemented Formats

Workshops

In three topic-specific workshops key aspects of the wallet architecture were explored:

Interviews

To include voices from a wide range of sectors, the project team conducted interviews with representatives from various fields: such as healthcare, education, banking, and public administration. The focus was on everyday perspectives, user needs and identified challenges in implementing and deploying the EUDI Wallet.

Working Group „Ecosystem Governance and Operating Models“ (EGOM)

In a discursive format, the EGOM group collaborated with stakeholders to develop concepts for the governance and operation of the EUDI Wallet ecosystem. The group met regularly and discussed concrete proposals from the community. The goals of the working group included:

  • Providing an open format for exchange, discussion, and shared learning among all stakeholders,
  • continuously refining the understanding of the EUDI Wallet ecosystem and the requirements of different roles, and
  • preparing and sharing insights through the project team.

All documents and recordings from the working group are available in this folder

Next Steps and Your Participation

Even after the official end of the consultation process, particularly successful formats and participation opportunities will continue. Transparency, openness and the inclusion of diverse perspectives remain central elements of the national EUDI Wallet project.

Open Online Consultations (OOC)

The regularly offered Open Online Consultations (OOC) provide an accessible forum for exchange. Topics range from technical requirements and data protection to governance issues. Past OOCs have already demonstrated the value of this direct dialogue: stakeholders and interested participants can share their ideas, while the project team can answer questions and take on important input.

Recordings of the OOCs and documentation of questions can be found here

Current OOC dates and registration information are available in our Event calendar

Open CoDE

Since the beginning, OpenCoDE has been the backbone of the architecture and consultation process. The platform allows anyone to actively participate, regardless of experience or background. It provides access to key project results, consultation documents and the current version of the technical documentation.

Through so-called “issues,” comments, suggestions, feedback, or general questions can be submitted. This enables an open dialogue, which has been central to the project from the start. Thus, interested parties can continue to contribute beyond the formal consultation process:
