The EUDI wallet is a digital wallet that must be provided in all EU Member States in accordance with the eIDAS 2.0 Regulation. It offers users a secure and self-determined means of digital identification, verification and signature. The DIF-AG is helping to ensure that the implementation of the EUDI Wallet in Germany complies with European requirements while also taking national characteristics into account.
What is DIF-AG?
DIF-AG stands for "Deutsche Industrie Forum Arbeitsgruppe" (German Industry Forum Working Group). The DIF-AG eID-Infrastructure was founded in July 2011 by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Its aim is the coordinated further development of the eID infrastructure in Germany. It serves as a platform for exchange between industry, authorities and research institutions in order to jointly shape technical requirements, security standards and interoperability. The DIF-AG eID thus acts as a communication and information platform and initiates cross-organisational working groups and workshops. The DIF-AG eID is now also addressing the development and implementation of the EUDI Wallet for the integration of the private sector.

Publication Technical Guideline (TR-03189)
A Technical Guideline is a document published by the BSI that defines binding technical specifications, procedures and security requirements for specific IT applications or systems. The aim of these guidelines is to establish uniform standards that ensure both security and interoperability.
When it comes to digital identities and the EUDI Wallet, the BSI's TR-01389 plays a central role. TR-01389, which is currently being drafted, specifies how the EUDI Wallet should be designed and which components should interact within it.
